Though the spring of my soul does run dry,
Though my enemies roar triumphant,
Still I will trust in God.
Though my mind torments me,
Though nowhere I find hope,
Still I will trust in the Lord.
Though my brothers abandon You,
Though my bones ache with weariness,
Still I will trust in El Shaddai.
Though my weakness accuses me,
Though my sin twists a knife,
Still I will trust in Yahweh.
Though I do not see You,
Though I do not feel You,
Still I will trust in my Father.
Though I have not progressed,
Though former glory is gone,
Still I will trust in Yahweh.
Though my spirit instills in me nausea,
Though Your Body brings no relief,
Still I will trust in El Shaddai.
Though my doubt is of every word,
Though hardships arise at every step,
Still I will trust in the Lord.
I will trust that His will is sure,
I will trust that His will is good,
Still I will trust in God.
Do not remove this hardship
Until I have learned Your lessons
And truth sits in my inner heart.
But I pray when it is time,
I pray for a gladness that can’t be shaken;
I pray for a love that is unshrinking.
For I know this is my purpose:
To build Your kingdom wide
And root Your joy deep.
